Thank you so much, Titti. I truly appreciate your kind words! Sometimes it feels as though I'm talking/writing into the void, so I never take comments like this for granted. Sending love to you too ❤️

Thank you for sharing, Skylar. What an emotionally painful and poignant time for you. I am so glad it has been possible to say goodbye to Pops; but sad to leave him even knowing he is well cared for. May he see out his last days without too much pain. I’m so glad you and Leon have each other. Much love 💕

Thanks so much for your support, Rosie. It's a brutal time in many ways. Lots of soul searching along with the realization that our capitalist world simply isn't structured to support any of us through these times of personal grief and upheaval. We have to keep going and doing. I do find myself craving the village. Sending love back to you ❤️

Skylar, I’ve followed you for about 10 years and really appreciate your authenticity. How such sharing helps others! You have created community, all be it online :) But to have real human interaction with trusted others is essential for well being.

I live in London (grew up in Australia) and have found my family here…good friends from all over the world. And neighbours who take care of each other. I’m lucky :) I look forward to your next post…💕

Thank you for sticking around all this time 😊 I do feel lucky to have an incredible circle of people (offline as well as online) but I'm really referring to how capitalism promotes individualism and how, in general, we are steered away from true community in the pursuit of productivity and profit. Very few of us have the support and resources to take a true pause to find our way through grief at a pace that feels manageable. We are forced to carry on, despite knowing that our bodies and hearts require nourishment and rest. We are all carrying too much. So my yearning for a village isn't just for me, rather one that sustains us all. But we have billionaires and pointless trips to space instead 🙃

Hi Skylar, I read a post today on LinkedIn that echos our conversation yesterday :) I posted the link to this post in my feed today - unfortunately I don’t seem to be able to tag you in it so I’m commenting here :)

By the way I’m known as Rosie Douglas not Smail on LinkedIn as there is an ex partner (who was violent towards me) who is looking for me. I do not want to be found!

My post on LinkedIn; and please read Nilesh Timbadia’s post

Thank you for this share, Rosie. And for your email. I sometimes take (a good!) few days to respond here. Or anywhere! But I do try to always reply. I appreciate your own insights and your thoughtfulness.

Thanks, Skylar :) I appreciate you respond at all as many must write to you. Take good care of yourself, dear woman, and keep sharing your reflections - so much of what you do resonates with so many of us. xx
