Great article, Skylar! It's all really too much, isn't it? I have always felt like it is, but your article really spells it all out and it is right on! I am going to read it again as a reminder of why I feel so tired all the time! ;-) Thank you! xoxo

Thank you, Amy! And thanks again for how you helped shaped this piece. It really is too much and the fact that we just keep having more piled on ALL the time might actually be funny if we weren’t too tired to laugh xoxo

Wow. Great piece! You make me realize how much we carry... I’ve just finished your article and I feel exhausted and out of breath... BUT/AND understood.😌

Thank you! x

Thank you so much, Isabelle! And, yessss. We carry all of this and so much more (this could really be a book). Is it any wonder we're exhausted? xx

OMG yes. No kids here but a invisible disability that’s becoming more visibility with each passing day (Charcot Marie Tooth), a lovely little dog, super stressful job but nice coworkers, loving a supportive husband and some interests I try to maintain (singing in a choir, making things traveling and growing things)... Yes and I just crossed into early 40’s and am ready to pull the sheets over my eyes and just focus on rekindling friendships instead of filling the void with purchases.

This is such a wonderful piece, Skylar! Incredible work! It is really the beginning/outline of a full book! And now I realize why I am so tired! It really is exhausting -- and the thought that while some things have changed a lot, some things remain the same like the hustle to earn less than a man makes for the same job. Recently, I was asked "what does Amy want" as I approach my empty nest years, and I have absolutely no idea, but, I guess, I'm in good company. Thank you!

Beautifully written Skylar! And funny enough we do have it all when we recognize that it’s within.

Great article Skylar, really related with so many aspects of this, I also think this is where a lot of people find themselves at this point of revolving around the sun. Thank you for sharing. Loved this little excerpt below a little too much.

"Unsurprisingly, we may well have arrived in midlife not knowing exactly who our authentic self is. Buried under the rubble of Having It All, Doing It All, Attracting It All, Showcasing It All and now Shunning It All is a woman who’s simply tired and uncertain."
