"Your tiny garden doesn't need to impress anyone else. It doesn't need to scale or trend or solve everything. It just needs your genuine and consistent attention. In a world that profits from our distraction and overwhelm, choosing to care for what’s directly in front of us becomes a quiet, radical act."

I love these words, and while I am familiar with Voltaire's phrase on tending to one's garden, there is something soft and approachable about tending to tiny gardens. Just a tiny step, a small act - this, I think to myself, is doable. I can do tiny today.

I'm so glad this struck a chord with you, Molly. And yes - the soft, approachable part feels true for me too. It feels possible. I love that you wrote "I can do tiny today." What a great mantra! I'll have to remember that one. I'll be thinking of you tending to your tiny garden as I do the same.

I’m just emerging from a very challenging few years (in every way) and have decided that my focus for the rest of this year will be my health/energy, my family/home/garden and training my dog. That’s all. That is my tiny garden - it’s all I can and want to cope with, it’s what will make the most significant difference to me and those in my immediate circle and hopefully it will eventually flourish into a slightly bigger garden and I can move my focus further outwards. 😊

I love this, Catherine. Thank you for sharing here. It's wonderful that you have such clarity about what your capacity is. I absolutely agree that it's from a space of plenty that we're able to then expand our focus. I am sending all good vibes that your beautiful tiny garden will thrive, and offer you sustenance and joy!
